Bought by “Muse Group” (previously “Ultimate Guitar”) in 2021. Although Muse Group is formally registered in Cyprus, it has been actually operating from Kaliningrad.

I’ve seen a video of the CEO of the company speaking at a russian startup event and claiming that some of their business practices where inspired by russian Spetsnaz.

After taking over the popular open-source project they immediately introduced telemetry and changed the privacy policy. See: https://github.com/audacity/audacity/issues/1213
